Hi Hanneke
Thank you for your views on fair-trade :) I'm sorry I didn't translate this post, but it seams you got the essence. I love people tree too, but wished I could try it on, especially with dresses.

And thanks so much for that website link. It is just what I needed actually! And just in time 10 days before my exam paper is due!

I would not call myself thefaircloset, if fair trade wasn't something close to my heart! It is a way out of poverty that is also empowering to the people involved. It is about telling the stories behind the products and trading with actual people. Conventional, profit driven trade is not only cruel, and unfair, it is also deceptive as customers in Western countries kept in the dark about production methods and wages of the workers. I believe that if consumers were made more aware,a lot of them would be put off. So, that's why I keep annoying my co-workers about ethical fashion and show off my ethically made items.
People Tree is my absolute clothing hero, for this brand dares to have their production in countries like Bangladesh and India and still control the whole production line. I also love their collection and think it is very versatile and appealing to a lot of different styles. I always buy directly from their English webshop, as the shops selling this brand in the Netherlands seem to buy all the wrong things. They could do so much better. ..
Last thing, I wanted to share is link with you as you like se sew, like myself: http://www.siebenblau.de It is from a German fabric shop that sells only organic fabrics and sewing supplies. They ship internationally and have really great fabrics.I especially love their linnen jersey, so perfect for summer.
Good night,
Hanneke
